Remember when we featured that bench that looks like a sled? Apparently, the sled is figuring into a lot of cool designs as a sled is exactly the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw Sma Ting, a wall-mounted storage unit.
Designed by Johanna Paulson, it looks like a sled that was mounted on a wall. That’s it. Except, the sled comes with a brush bow that completely circles inward, creating a tube-like space where you can store items and supplies.
Sma Ting, which we’re guessing is how you say “small things” in Swedish (Paulson’s home country), is a covered shelf for smaller objects you’d like to tidy up. The two ends of the tube can be left open, as well as closed up with the integrated semi-round covers (which, by the way, looks like a pizza with one slice eaten). While it’s designed so that you’re supposed to place items inside the shelf, it can also function as a coat rack (just throw it up top), as well as serve as a mounting board for mirrors, whiteboards, and maybe even a dartboard game. It features a molded wood shelf and extended flat body, with a decorative appearance that should let it work well with most any existing interior.
