While you’ve long abandoned physical newspapers and magazines in favor of digital reading materials, you never quite found the heart to throw away your old collection of glossy printed matter. And you probably never will. Rather than have them collect dust in the attic while the pages slowly rot out, why not put them to use with this Hockenheimer Magazine Stool?
Made by NJU, it’s a clever kit for turning magazines, newspapers, and even books into functional seating furniture. That way, you won’t just clear up storage space in the attic (or the basement or wherever you’re keeping them), you gain extra stools that you can pull out when unexpected guests arrive, all while showing off your collection of Soldier of Fortune, Cosmo, and Wizard Magazine (yeah, you had quite the eclectic reading habit).
The Hockenheimer Magazine Stool measures 9.8 x 12 x 2.75 inches (d x w x h), making it big enough to support a person’s backside but way too low to sit comfortably on. That’s where your magazines come in. Simply stack any printed matter on top on the base, place the included cushy pillow on top, and cinch the entire assembly with the integrated leather straps – done. You can make the stool as high as you want (provided the straps can accommodate it), so whether you’re tall or short, you can make adjustments till you find the perfect height. The best part? When you need something to read to pass away the time, just loosen the straps and pull one out from the pile – no more digging through boxes of old reading materials stashed away in the basement.
Available now, the Hockenheimer Magazine Stool retails for €128.50.
