Use Link To Quickly Build Any Furniture Frame You Need

You know those three-dimensional molecular models grade-schoolers make for science class? Well, someone took that familiar design and applied it to functional furniture with Link, a modular system of bars that can be attached to form the structure for different furniture pieces.

Created by Christian Sjostrom, each module consists of a cylindrical bar with ball joints on either end, along with holes along the body for connecting to other modules. To build chairs, tables, shelves, and whatever other furniture you want, simply plug a joint on a module to the hole on another and secure it with a nut, then add tabletops, seats, back rests, and whatever other surfaces it requires.

Because it uses ball joint connectors, Link modules can be connected at a variety of angles, allowing you to add cross bracings and other reinforcement structures to the furniture pieces you put together.   Of course, you can also use them to build less conventional structures, making it easy to put together weird-looking monkey bars to whip up your own custom jungle gym.

The holes, along with accompanying indentations to accommodate the ball joints, run the length of the bars on four sides. Construction is ash wood for the bars, with the joints cast in anodized aluminum.
