Every Bomb Shelter Can Use A Ballistics Bench To Keep Its Occupants Comfortable

While the likelihood that you’ll need to use a bomb shelter as living space for an extended period of time is very, very small, it still deserves to have some decent furniture in it. Would you really be fine spending the apocalypse sitting on nothing but the cold, hard ground? If you’d still like the shelter to feel tactical while being livable, you can start with pieces like this Ballistics Bench.

Made by Oliver Apt., it’s a salvaged ammunition box that’s been repurposed into a functional bench and storage space combo. That way, your shelter will still look like it’s fitted to be ready for World War 3, all while affording its occupants some creature comforts.

Rather than fashion the ammunition box into something unidentifiable, the Ballistics Bench makes sure the material’s original source is unmistakable. In fact, the boxes are perched atop the bench frame in their original raw finish, with no additional paint job, ensuring any labels (e.g. HAZARD, EXPLOSIVES) remain intact. Heck, the boxes even retain their original compartment space (you can fill it with your own guns, food supplies, and fresh clothes) and rope handles on the side, the same way they would have been equipped back when they were carrying supplies to be stored in an armory. Construction is hardwood for the box and stainless steel for the legs. Dimensions are 46.5 x 15 x 19 inches (l x w x h).
