Bookdesk Uses A Set Of Shelves For Legs

Sure, you can get a pair of bookends and use them to neatly organize your books on the desk. Wouldn’t it be so much neater, though, if you can place the books in their own space, instead? That’s exactly what you can do with the Bookdesk.

Designed by Adam Wiercinski, the desk features legs that actually function as shelves, allowing you to store books and other printed matter away from the precious tabletop. Granted, the design (where the shelf expands inward) seems to make it ideal for holding folders and similarly-larger documents than actual books. Either way, that extra shelving space should find plenty of use whether in home or office settings. I’d, personally, like a workbench with a similar leg design – it looks perfect for holding stuff like grit paper, plans, and smaller piles of wood.

The Bookdesk uses plywood for the tabletop and steel frames for the shelves, each one separated by steel nets. When you store printed matter inside, the steel mesh enables majority of the cover to remain visible, allowing them to double as a decorative accent, depending on what you’ve got inside. Each leg feature six narrow shelves, divided into two levels, so you get plenty of extra storage space to fill up. Dimensions are 195 x 70 x 75 cm.
